Hello
Just wondering if anyone would have a good recipe for the Cast Performance 255 GR. WFNPB .430 bullet. Looking for something around the 1200 fps range to hunt hogs with. I will be using this load in Ruger SRH. Any help sure would be appreciated as I cant find any data anywhere. Thanks.

To be honest your best overall bet would be to give CP a call tomorrow and ask for their recommended loads for that particular bullet.

I have done so in the past for several loads, and they are VERY helpful with what your looking to accomplish.

Other than that you might also try the Hodgdon and Accurate Arms load data they usually have a few of the CP bullets in their data.

18.5 gr. 2400 or 18 gr AA9 with that bullet is in the ballpark for the 1200 fps velocity you want.
This from 4" "N" frame S&W's.
You don't mention barrel length; makes a big difference. A 7 1/2 " barrel should be faster.
Only way to accurately evaluate load development is using a chronograph, after an "accuracy" load is found.

Oh, I forgot to mention I use that bullet and the 265 gr. WFNGC hog hunting. Great bullet.
A KTSWC will theoretically be more accurate at distance, but hog hunting IME, doesn't exceed ranges of 50 yds-due to terrain/cover where we hunt.

Thank you everyone. The help is much appreciated. Been using the Lyman 300 GCSWC for a few years but its getting tough on my old hands. Hope this light bullet helps with that and drops them as well as the 300 did. Thanks again.
