I need your opinion on the best way to debur after you trim your brass. For years I have done it by hand but I am looking for a better way. I finally boke down and bought a new Lyman power trimmer and it should be delivered this week. I have used a Lyman trimmer with the power adapter for years with my cordless drill and thought that the power unit would be much easier to use. Now I want an easier way to prep the cases. I have looked at the Lyman, RCBS and Hornady options and have also considered buying a bench type drill press all to do the work. Just let me know the pro and cons of the different options.

I am new to this forum but have been reoalding for the past 42 years. I load for 6 differen rifle calibers and 5 handgun calibers and I am always looking forward to improve my loading skills and am really enjoying the wealth of knowledge on this site.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I need your opinion on the best way to debur after you trim your brass. If you really want to speed up the process with a large lot of cases, you can do all three steps at once.
RCBS makes what's called a Trim Pro 3-way cutter... Trims to length, chamfers the ID and deburrs the OD all in one pass. You order 1 trimmer assembly at around $50, then order what ever pilots you need at around $10 per caliber.

I don't consider it the best as far as exacting, .0001" precision is concerned, but if you have 700 6BR cases you need to prep for a dog shoot... it kinda rocks.

I have an electric Lyman trimmer.
They have an attachment to chamfer & deburr.

Most of the big brands have something similar, but I went with the Lyman Case Prep Center Xpress for chamfering, deburring and primer pocket cleaning. It is a good fit for a lathe type trimmer and you can move through the brass pretty quickly. I have heard that the RCBS 3-way head won't fit the Lyman trimmers, but if Lyman makes an equivalent product then I'd highly consider it.

I recently tried the RCBS 3-way cutter. It is wonderful...I'll be trying them ina few other calibers.
