I finally picked a Colt Diamondback and ended up buying this gem. I know the box and papers aren't correct for this gun with a born date of 1967, but she was just to clean to pass up.

You've just committed yourself to a lifetime of lust and poverty. Once the Snake addiction bites, there's no hope. Enjoy.;)

Right up there about 9.99 out of ten on the "cool" scale.

Now all you need are the Mustang, tweed sport coat, and blue turtleneck, and you can be Steve McQueen (Bullitt) incarnate!!!

Congrats!

Colt Diamondbacks are a disease

Trust me...after 5 and still looking...the only thing stopping me is price.

Trust me, I know all about the colt snake bite, that leads to empty wallet fever. This year for colt snake guns.

Of my 5 DBs, two are snubs...and none look as good as yours.

Beautiful gun

I have a couple of the 22 snubbies. Still looking for a as-new 38spl for a fair price. Congrats on the nice Diamondback. Box looks good too!

My only Colt 38spl snubbie is a Det Special. It's a shooter.

I really wanted a 22 Diamondback, but I settled for a 38

I agree it is a very classy revolver! The Diamondback 22 snubbies are rather difficult to find. Just about any one of them is a keeper.

I bought one three days ago with a BAD finish, but it's a shooter for sure!

I only have two Diamondbacks...a .22, 6" and a .38, 4". Tha only one that likes them more than myself...is my grandson. I think he would shoot that .22 all day.

When I got the .38...ummm about '73, I remember how hard it was to choose between the snub and the 4". I like 'em both and you found a good one!

To top it off, Colts work great for left hand shooters.

The OP stated he wanted a .22

Last spring I saw a 4" .22 Diamondback on GB. It either had a worn finish or bad camera flash. I took a chance and had the only bid.

When it arrived @ my LGS, we opened the box to find a 99% gun! My LGS Offered me $100.00 over what I paid, then upped it to $200.00.

I later found a correct box / paperwork on GB.

I wish that i had a 99% Diamondback 22. I looked for a long time and settled for this snubby. One day, i will find a good deal. Any pics of yours?

How true... The best argument IMO for owning a Colt DA revolver.

By the way.... Nice Weapon!!!

Oh, your diamondback is only a 4" ;) I had to order a 8" anaconda to compensate for my diamondback snubby.

Way to go and your first time out the gate as well. Amazing find. I've yet to find a Diamondback either .22 or .38 here in my area for sale.

Now thats one beautiful gun in the original post....love how clean it is, such a classy and iconic looking gun.
Just picked one up tonight, $400 was more than I could afford but I had to have it....Its not anywhere near as clean as yours but it has aged well, and I think it makes for one hairy chested snubnose :)

You did good at $400 I would have dished out the cash without even thinking twice about it. You can always send it to Colt for $325 plus shipping down the road. Still a nice snubby :)

I have been looking for a "used" Diamondback like that for years. I wanted one as my truck gun. For now, I substituted a Detective Special that shows some wear.
