Dynasty November 13, 2012, 03:01 PM I'm in need of one holster for the four pistols I own: Browning Buckmark, Glock 17, CZ 75, and Ruger SR1911.
I just want a holster that will do the job of being on me at the range so I can easily holster which ever pistol I am shooting after I empty the magazine.
My needs...
- Must be able to fit the pistols mentioned above and hold them relatively securely. I will not be running around while the pistol is holstered.
- Conceal ability is not a factor here
- Magazine pouch preferred
- Material that will not mark up or scratch my pistols too bad (nylon the best bet here?)
- Simple design
- Under $60
Some quick ideas include the following...
-Blackhawk Nylon Hip Holster http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum7358.php
- Uncle Mikes Nylon Hip Holster http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum2500.php
- Uncle Mike's Sidekick Ambidextrous Hip Holster http://www.midwayusa.com/product/996922/uncle-mikes-sidekick-ambidextrous-hip-holster-with-magazine-pouch-large-frame-semi-automatic-3-3-4-to-4-1-2-barrel-nylon-black
- Blackhawk Nylon Hip Holster with Thumb Break http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum7325.php
These are just ideas, guys. Help me out.

Bovice November 13, 2012, 03:08 PM The buckmark is the oddball. Not sure if you can do that with anything other than a big floppy snap-top holster. If you want a holster that can be seriously used with your other guns, get a Yaqui slide. I've had a Desantis Yaqui slide for years now. It works for anything.

barstoolguru November 13, 2012, 07:26 PM look at ace case holsters and they are leather
mljdeckard November 13, 2012, 08:20 PM For everything but the Buckmark, you can find used UM-84/M-12 holsters on ebay really cheap.
oldbear November 13, 2012, 10:18 PM The old saw "a man can only serve one master," comes to mind here.
I understand it can be expensive but I strongly suggest you save and get a good quality holster for each firearm.

Normally, I'd agree 100%
But for basic range use, where you're not using the holster for anything but holding the firearm while you're not shooting it, a one size fits all nylon holster will work fine. That is, as long as it holds it securely enough to not fall out. A thumb break would help
This is probably the only time I'll ever suggest a cheap nylon holster or a thumb break.
handyman163 November 14, 2012, 11:05 AM I have one of these. They work well, and are soft inside.

The straps hook with velcro, so it's very fast to re-adjust for a different gun, and they have one that should fit all of yours. Get one big enough for the largest gun, and the worst that will happen is the smaller ones will sit lower. I have the one that fits the Beretta 92 series, and my Ruger SR1911 sits a little low in it, but it's secure.
This may be the best fit:

The price is sure right!
porterdog November 14, 2012, 01:55 PM Have a look at these. (http://www.tommysgunpack.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=3)
Some of them go on sale; it's worth it to get on their email list.
Dreamliner787 November 14, 2012, 03:21 PM Check out N82 Tactical Holsters. Not sure if it will accomodate all of your stuff but the one I ordered from them in middle size fits various pistols for me.
B1gGr33n November 18, 2012, 12:17 PM I have the Uncle Mikes Sidekick that I picked up some time ago when I got my S&W 22A 5.5". I forget the size, but it's about 5" long and has fit a PT111, PT24-7, S&W 5906, and a Springfield 5" 1911. It's my favorite do-all range holster, and the holster I carry when I'm squirrel hunting with the 22A. I think it's exactly the kind of thing you're looking for. The main feature I recommend for this type of holster is finding one that doesn't have the muzzle end sewn shut so it can accommodate longer barrels, my 22A sticks out about 1".
