Not looking for an imexpensive model. Looking to spend between $150-210. It's for a Rem 870 Fully Rifled Cantilever Barrel. I want it to be sturdy so it can handle 3 inch sabots and not worry about getting damaged or losing zero. I'd prefer to spend a little less so I can have money left for rings and slugs.

Luckily I also have a C&R so I can get dealer placing at a lot of places, so feel free to recommend around or a little above the limit given. I'm tempted by the Slughunter by Nikon but its out of stock at a lot of places. I've also been told the Leupold VX1 Shotgun series isn't the quality you'd expect with Leupold or for the price paid.

I have had good success with the Nikon brand. I currently have one on my Marlin 1895 GS 45-70 and have had zero problems.

I'd try swfa for one.

Do you recommend the 1.5 or 3 power one?

While little over $210 the Nikon Monarch 'Safari' variable with 1" tube is impossible to beat. It has excellent optical system and recoil resistance is second to NONE.

I use a Leupold 2.5 fixed on my slug gun. It mounts far forward like a scout scope and allows for both eyes open, basically superimposing the crosshairs on the true image of the deer. Very fast for stationary or running game. Only complaint is that the thick vertical crosshair has twice now covered saplings that were between the deer and me. Two missed deer as the slug went wild after going thru 4" saplings.

Since all my shots have been under 100yds and 95% under 50 yds I may change to a red dot next year.
