The NRA's gamble lost. S. 1805 is now loaded up with a ton of garbage - gun bans, end to gun shows, mandated gun storage locks.

We need to burn the phones and kill this beast. NRA promised to take the bill down if the antis loaded it up with crap - but we need to do the work ourselves.

Call S 1805's sponsor, Senator Larry Craig, NOW and tell him to pull S.1805 because it is now a gun ban bill.

Senator Craig's Phone: 202-224-2752
Senator Craig's Fax: 202-228-1067

Call NOW. Kill this sucker.

The NRA promised it would do that IF the House conference committee failed to report out a clean bill.

This bill hasn't even made it to the conference committee yet.

Just out of curiousity, how many of you consider a losing score in the first quarter equivalent to losing the game and just head home?

Why should we let it go to committee? How does immunity from liability help me or you? That's the only thing left in the bill worth having. The rest is just Crud! I'd rather not take the "chance" that something good MIGHT get done in committee, when I KNOW what this bill will do if passed as is.

The AWB expires in 194 days without this extension. This can ONLY reenact it at this point. LET IT DIE. We know from this vote that they don't have the votes to get a stand alone reenactment, no way to break a fillibuster. This is the ONLY WAY THEY WILL GET IT DONE, DON'T LET THEM!
We know that the House will not take independent action to reenact the bill so why make them take it up? This is stupid. If we lose we deserve it!

Exactly... would you risk a reextension of the ban and further erosion of private sales ability for a meager lawsuit protection?

Gun manufacturers are rich. They have lawyers. Screw em.

The awb dying is much more important. I already called and asked him to pull the bill. We'll see.
