Howdy!

Any one know of a good source for Mauser clips? Just got a lovely FR8 and am looking for clips for it now.

Best kind but pricey are the all brass ones:

inexpensive option:

I checked out the RCArms webpage (Thanks, Dr.Rob) ... Good Lord, look at the prices on those chargers! I had no idea that their value had climbed so much.

Yeah, I realize that in-the-wild they will almost certainly not command those prices, but it is interesting to me to see that they are worth something over, say, a nickel apiece. ;) Nice quick reference info on that page, too.

Now I am going to have to get out my BIG jug of assorted chargers to see what I have in there.

I don't recall what I paid for those all brass strippers just a few years back... more like 50 cents or a buck a piece?

They are MUCH better made than those steel Springfield strippers.. which are pretty much disposable.

Dr.Rob, thanks for the link to gunpartscorp.com. I was trying to find a place that manufactured new clips.

morcey2, thanks. Ended up going with some from that site, as decided to go with the proper sling and and bayonet for it as well. Did not think to check collector sites for them.

Here: Buy 3 for $4, get 15 rounds free. (http://www.southernohiogun.com/ammo-mags-more/ammunition/8mm-yugo-15rd-box-on-5rd-stripper-clip.html)

So the results of buying clips for my FR8...

8mm k98 Mauser clips: Work perfectly. Slides easily into clip guide and retain the rounds nicely.

7mm Mauser clips: To wide to fit in clip guide, but retain 7.62x51mm perfectly fine.

I think the 7mm clips are similar to the swede clips and are designed for the small ring mausers. They have a slightly different charger setup. They're supposed to work well w/ 30-06 in 1903's (springfields, rock Island, etc.).

With mausers converted to x51 or 308 is it common to see a decreased capacity of one round when loading from stripper clips?

I have an American eagle 98/85 in 308 that I have extreme difficulty loading with five rounds

posted via that mobile app with the sig lines everyone complaints about
