Just noticed my brand new Sig SP 2022 has a slight dent in the slide where the logo is stamped. I doubt this affects the pistol's operation, still it bugs me. Would you send it back?

If it bugs you, send it back. Or just keep it and you won't worry as much about the first scratch.

If you aren't happy with it, I would send it back as it will always be an issue.

If it shoots fine and it's not a huge cavern of a dent then no I would not.

Pretty common on guns that are stamped in an area without support. As an example, it was common on the M1911 when the USP marking was on the dust cover, which is why they moved it on the M1911A1. I wouldn't worry about it unless it somehow interferes with functioning.

I doubt this affects the pistol's operation, ...
Only one way to remove your doubt ... shoot the gun. A couple of hundred rounds will either remove all doubt or prove the dent to be a problem.

Dude, it's custom. That's how you know it's YOURS. :) See the upside! Of course, I say this without seeing it.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it a bit. Even if it were a collector piece to never be fired, as Jim noted, it's a product of the process. No problem.

I'm reluctant to comment without seeing a picture...for all we know, it could be normal

Ditto - pics would help. If it truly were a defect, I personally would send it back to Sig. Sigs cost enough IMHO where one might expect a bit more attention to detail...

Put my first 200 rounds through it today. Not a single problem. I'm going to leave it alone.

I'd leave it too. That's part of the reason I carry an SP2022. It has a pricetag that makes you not mind if it gets beat up a bit daily carrying it and it has real Sig reliability (not like the P250). Mines been flawless even after thousands down the pipe.

As long as it isn't a rainbow slide sand warrior serpent elite model, I'm guessing you didn't buy it because it's pretty. It's a SIG, they're supposed to look God awful and run top notch.
