:) Recently received a truly beautiful, very strong, and well-made gunbelt from William Tucker - aka, 'Tucker Gunleather' - in Houston, TX. I've owned any number of gun belts before this; but Tucker's is the nicest I've, ever, worn! Strong too; I'll bet you could hang a 500# weight using it! Be warned, though; it ain't cheap. I paid over $165.00 for mine.

The problem with buying exotic gun belts is getting a matching holster and mag pouches.
I bought a shark skin holster and belt from Milt Sparks for a S&W K-Frame, but he doesn't make shark skin speed loader pouches. I also intended to get a shark skin 1911 holster to use with this belt, but he only has one with a little bit of shark skin trim on it and no mag pouches.
I am thinking about getting a belt made of skunk skin. I am having second thoughts though because it is plain and boring. The racing stripe is all fur.

Shark skin can no longer be considered "metrotactical"
Elephant hide CAN be considered "metrotactical"
Kangaroo hide can also be considered...however it makes you speak with an accent :D

I love good rigs ... thinking here open carry of course. I have shown one or two pics of these before I think but reshot them. I designed and partly made these about 20 some years ago ... having had help from a very good leather working buddy.
I cut out all the leather from his stock .. good Italian stuff this was .. and we lined with suede. The real heavy stitching we did on his heavy duty machine ... he showed me how and I (slowly) persevered . with his further assistance at times... cartridge loops were tricky!
First one here is the one we made for my 7 1/2" Redhawk I had then . it now suits my SBH quite well.
The other was made for my M27 5" ... and now of course is ideal for my M27-2. The ''spare'' holster shown was actually the first .. used for cross draw .... but that was frowned on for practical so made the second one for strong hand conventional draw.
I have a few speedloader pouches I made that match .. but they have no top flaps so weren't used all the time. These have both been well used, particularly the one for M27.

Skunkabilly,
nope I am not kidding...Kangaroo skin is just about bullet proof...People that are into Falconry use them for the material in there Guantlets...
there strength to wieght ratio is off the charts...problem is...
1...VERY hard to work with at times
2...limited supply...most exotic skin dealers dont carry it
3...Import Ban...much like the elephant..Kangaroo skin was banned from importation for awhile...now they are legally harvested in Austrailia...again much like Elephant (in whereever)
4...COST!!!!! this stuff costs some bucks
but it is some neat leather:D
Tech:
I dont know if you were kidding or not but:
Ron Graham prolly can help you with the Elephant hide for a 1911 he makes some holsters for the NAa minis that are made from Elephant hide..

Erm ... isn't it illegal to import kangaroo skin products in to California? Cabela's always has a blurb on their kanga boots that they cannot be shipped to California.
