Well, some of you may have seen my price check thread on the CZ75 BD Police. I picked the gun up today and gotta say I'm quite pleased. The gun does include a few extras that he forgot to mention, namely Hogue grips and a Fobus holster.

Anyway, went to the range and put 100 rounds through the gun. This gun is freakin' accurate. Right now I shoot it much better than my Glock 26 (not surprising), and even a bit better than my buddy's Gen 4 Glock 17.

The double action trigger pull isn't bad at all. A lot of people say its gritty, but mine feels smooth as silk. The single action trigger pull is excellent.

All in all, I'm very pleased. I might have overpaid a bit, but I'm very happy with the gun (and I love CZ's in general). By the time I wear this gun out the extra $25-50 I paid will be nothing.

The CZ triggers, at least with the newer guns, tend to be gritty at first, but improve with time. The SA trigger may or may not improve, depending on the gun. The triggers can be greatly improved by a good gunsmith -- you can do it yourself. You need to visit/join the CZ Forum, for more info about all things CZ, including photo-guided instructions on many maintenance activities...

As for grips: I found the Hogue rubber grips uncomfortable, but many people love them. (The Hogues forced my fingers UP against the underside of the trigger guard in a way that I found unpleasant.) I much prefer the CZ factory soft-rubber grips, which look just like their hard plastic grips, but which feel much better in the hand.

I shot CZs right off vs. Glock 9mms I had >20k through.

Congrats! The CZ decocker design is one of my favorites because the first DA pull from the intercept position is so short. Your DA pull will only get better with use. ;)

And now that I've cleaned it, I can post the obligatory pics!

Great deal. Don't worry about what you paid, a CZ is a value at any price. Many (but maybe not all) of the CZ 75 BD Police guns came from the factory with the hogue wraparound grip. The manual for mine has it in the picture. (Just some useless trivia I thought you might appreciate). I don't personally like the look of the hogue grip. I like the CZ rubber grips, or a good set of VZ G10 grips.

I sliced the finger groove part of the Hogues off. It feels a little less chunky now. I also converted this CZ85 Combat to SA only and added the FO front sight. It's a great shooter.

The Police model I saw in the store had a loaded chamber indicator and night sights. That's worth a bit. Maybe there are different configurations.

CZ prices have gone up a lot lately. Maybe it's the weak dollar.

Breacher, I really like what you did with those Hogue grips! I might have to try that (and if I don't like it, well, new Hogue grips are only $15).

I'm not too thrilled with the stock plastic grips. I love the look of VZ G10 grips, but would like to handle a gun with them before plunking down $75 for a set.

The VZ grips are much thinner than the stock. I have them on 5 of my CZ's. for me they make the gun perfect.
