Just heard back from ruger about my request for service on a ROA.I heard they still had some parts but only used them on service they preformed. They said no parts or service on old armys anymore.Too bad.

Well, that stinks. I wish they'd start making parts for them again.

A base pin should be easy for someone to make.

Makes me almost afraid to break-in my unfired FS guns (a long blue & a short s.s.) , and I know that I will certainly NEVER lend either to anyone so that they can wreck my base pin by using the onboard ram without locking it in place. -amatuers-

unknwn,I don't blame you for never wanting to loan your ROA'S to anyone. With no parts or service available maybe you should sell them to me so they could collect dust in my safe.

Nah- it was too hard won to find and purchase them. And after buying the stainless Kirst cylinders I'm really going to have to christen them sooner than later, the toss up is whether to fill some .45 LC brass with black powder or to be sacriligeous and just run some factory smokeless loads through them.
I guess if I go with the bp in some cartridges route I'll certainly have no reason for qualms about loading up my C&B cylinders and going town.
(I'm going to stick to using my cylinder loading press though ! )
If finding spares for them wasn't so damned hard I would buy myself a third, no group of them could be complete without an adjustable sight model, but I just can't justify adding any more guns that you can't buy needed spare parts for.
How many of these wonderful revolvers will get parted out because they were left to get ugly, or broken, and thier owner couldn't find any parts to refurbish them. Shame, Ruger, shame....
