I'm thinking after I get a Deerstalker I'll be needing a Lyman's Trade Rifle or Great Plains with a PC style scope for use across fields n such.
Something like this:

Anyone know how much weight these add to your rifle? Wouldn't be a big deal really as it's intended use would be from a fixed position.

I've looked around a little and only seem to find them at Dixie Gun Works. Anywhere else?

Your link doesn't work for me.

Are you talking about one of the real long scopes used back in BP days?

Indeed I am. The type that runs the length of the barrel. I kinda like the brass one, but wonder if it would glint badly.

Precisely what I was looking for. Thanks!

Nothing a little bow hunters cammo tape wouldn't easily fix during deer season!

Do you happen to know whether or not they are built more to today's standards of visual clarity? I see they are nitrogen filled, and I'd assume that's not PC.

whether or not they are built more to today's standards of visual clarity?Yes they are.
It's not gonna be a $1,000 Leupold clear, but it will be a whole lot clearer then the orginial ones were.
