Nice piece,Jim. A couple months ago, I was hoping to score one cheap, but got outbid at the last minute on one being sold by a local pawnshop on Gunbroker. It went for only $211.Being local, I would paid only $15 in tax rather than $60 in shipping and transfer. Oh well, wasn't meant to be.....
This is it here....http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=305902342

Nice, every one I see appears to have been dragged behind a car.

I think these all had stainless hammers and triggers that wore too fast and caused some galling. They were replaced with flash-chromed carbon steel parts.
But as a potential collectible, it could turn out to be a good purchase.
Or, you could just put a couple of drops of oil in the action and see if it gradually smooths up and just use the gun as long as it works okay. Maybe your hammer and trigger will wear-in and work okay.
I do like the idea of a standard bbl M-64 very much. One with a round butt would make even more sense, but I don't think they made round butts except as snubs.

Brian Williams; I have always loved that "custom" 65 of yours with the 4" standard barrel. My own favorite revolver is my 65 with the 3" barrel but that's a great idea well executed.

Might have some dried-out WD40 in there. Take off the grips, get some Kroil or your favorite solvent, and see if you can't clean it out a bit. An overnight soak can work wonders.

Enough jaw-jacking. Get it to the range and let us know how it shoots.
