Hello.
I recently picked up a 6" Sig Hammerli .22 Trailside and I think I'd like to put a scope or red dot on the pistol.
This would be for shooting the wings off of mosquitos up to 25 yards. Let's place a limit on the cost of $200 total for scope and mount.
I would value the inputs from those with experience placing a scope/RD on their pistol.

i put a crappy little $30 pistol scope on mine for bullseye shooting years ago. it worked ok. later, i threw that in the trash and switched to a bushnell fastfire 2 for shooting steel challenge. man, that is a nice setup. not the accuracy you're asking for of course, but so much fun!

I have a $60 ATI on mine (came with it from a buddy). It actually works pretty good within its limitations. Shooting the wings off mosquitos....use the target sights. YMMV

there was a time, a decade or so ago, when I would do just that.
These days, using a scope for one-hole groups sounds a lot more do-able :)
