A pair of 10X42's are for sale locally at about 1/2 SWFA's price.

I was wondering if anybody knows how they compare to Leica, Swarovski, and other premium products.

If they are German Kahles, they should be the best.

Some of the best optics on the planet if they're the real deal.

Ten years ago, I decided to get new binos and Kahles was one that was at the top of my list.
After studying through several while comparing them to Leica & Swarovski, I didn't buy them.
They didn't seem quite as clear at the edges as the other two. I ended up paying a couple hundred more for Swarovski.

Truth be known though, if I'd have bought the Kahles, I'd have still had an excellent bino and also had two hundred dollars more to buy pizza, beer, or Christmas gifts for people that don't deserve them.

Kahles are owned by Swarovski. Both are made in Austria. I own optics by Swarovski & Kahles. Both are high end optics, but I'd probably give the edge to Swarovski. Kahles binos are lighter than Swarovski & normally retail for $1,000 less,so I guess this favours the Kahles.
A guide I used on a hunt had Leica binos & they were also excellent glass.
The difference between the 3 brands is not significant & if you can get a good deal on Kahles I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
You are choosing between the best the world has on offer.

Kahles optics go back to 1898 so they are well known. I guess they are Austrian but the Germans had them when I was over there.
