Tech Ninja December 7, 2012, 07:32 PM I have box full of Security Six grips I don't like. They are either the wrong shape or block the use of a speed loader. If you can't find what you like you either have to do without or make your own.
So I found this old rough finish Jay Scott grip on Amazon:

They don't look like much out of the box:

After a few hours of sanding they look a little better:

Plenty of clearance for a speed loader:

Cocked & Locked December 7, 2012, 08:02 PM you done good...real good
SharpsDressedMan December 7, 2012, 08:54 PM VERY niced job! I have similar unfinished grips for a S&W K-frame, made by Mustang, that have finger grooves. I am going to put them in the THR classifieds if anyone wants to dress up their S&W square butt.
skidder December 7, 2012, 09:14 PM Great work! Some nice looking grips!
You now have some custom NinjaScott grips that are one of a kind.
Oh... and the 4" Six is a looker too.
snooperman December 8, 2012, 07:38 AM Good job. Enjoy
Hondo 60 December 8, 2012, 11:54 AM Very nice job on the grips.
That sure is a beauty! :D
RugRev December 8, 2012, 02:26 PM Great job! Been in the process of modifying a Hogue grip I have for a S&W 686 to fit my hand better and bob the duck tail at the bottom of the rear of the grip to conceal better. Sort of comes out like the bob tail mods some make to 1911's.
303 hunter December 8, 2012, 06:01 PM Great job! Great gun too! For anyone that wants nice custom grips at a great price, google"Tim Perkes". He does great work.
Lucky Derby December 10, 2012, 04:06 PM Very nice. Really look good. I have a set of wood Hogues for my Redhawk that I need to do that to.
Deaf Smith December 10, 2012, 09:54 PM Ok gang.. hold on to your hats!
At a gun shop today I found TWO, yes TWO Harriet made grips for Speed Sixes!!!
Now the Harriet style grips are not my favorite but the ARE (or should I say were) made for the Speed Six.) And as Tech showed, you can buffer them down to fit your taste!
And that is what I will do with these two!

788Ham December 11, 2012, 12:16 AM Sharpdressed, can you post any pics? I just picked up a #15-4 4" a couple of weeks ago, wrong grips on mine, they're okay, just not quite right. How much $$ you asking? Might be interested.
