Starter52 December 9, 2012, 07:43 PM Guys, my sister needs a Xmas range bag for my BIL. He shoots quality handguns and I'm looking for a carrying bag for him to take to the indoor range. Something in the $100 range, big enough for two 1911-size guns in pistol rugs, but not overly large. Discreet, no loud graphics or gun company logo on the side.
Any suggestions?

fatcat4620 December 9, 2012, 07:46 PM LA police gear makes a good bag.
srtolly December 9, 2012, 07:47 PM I'm pretty cheap and only paid $20 at wally world for a Winchester range bag that sounds like what you may be looking for. Plenty of room for ammo and hearing and eye protection. Only thing I don't like is no magazine pouches.
hso December 9, 2012, 07:48 PM I still have the 15 year old Bagmaster range bag we bought as the baby bag/range bag to be when my daughter was born.
taliv December 9, 2012, 09:02 PM Think about one of those hard pistol cases the cmp guys use. Looks more like a tool box than a gun case
hq December 9, 2012, 09:21 PM I've used Bucket Boss Gatemouth bags in various sizes. Cheap, utilitarian and durable enough for carrying fairly large amounts of heavy ammo.

Jeff B. December 9, 2012, 09:39 PM The LA Police Gear "Jumbo Bail Out Bag" has served me pretty well for the last year or so.

Priced at $29.99, it's not going to break the bank either.
LAPG shipping is a bit on the slow side, so you'd do well to get it order pdq if you like it (or your sister does).

bigfatdave December 10, 2012, 10:07 AM Midway is good
so are the GI-style tool-bags you can get at the surplus store
so is a cheapie toolbox, I ran my range kit out of a $25 Craftsman 3-level toolbox for a couple years, it will work for pistol-only if you pack smart
Captaingyro December 10, 2012, 12:38 PM +1 for Midway USA.
