I am wanting one of those new Ruger American rifles but the finish looks a bit flimsy and I am dreading another incodent like my ADL which had a similar finish. What would you do to rustproof a rifle in a humid southern climate?

Clean it, or at least wipe it down when it get salt air mist on it.
And Johnsons Paste Floor Wax in between every time I got a Round Tuit.

Rig Gun Grease. Buff it in. Apply another coat. Buff it. Repeat.
If the gun isn't going to be fired, use Renaissance Wax instead.
