I have a chance to buy a Savage 516, 308, bolt action pistol.
The 516 has a muzzle brake.
I have a Suppressor, requiring 5/8x24 threads.
If I remove brake are the threads 5/8x24?

I called Savage.com, customer Service: tech questions and the answer I got was: ????

I haven't a clue.
But .308 muzzle breaks / flash suppressors are normally 5/8"x24TPS.
They will have either a .635", or .735" thread length to the shoulder.
But I don't know if savage followed convention or not.

""They will have either a .635", or .735" thread length to the shoulder.""
I hate to admit this :o( ...but what does that mean...?
And thank you for taking time to respond,

Thread length from the muzzle to the stop shoulder on the barrel where it tightens down.
