Just ordered a CZ 75b in stainless....

I figured you can never have enough, so......I placed a stainless CZ 75b in layaway at Bud's. Just bought an ammo can (or 2 ;)) and a new Stag Model 2 - so layaway was my only option (or divorce).

Anyhow, I have only handled them at my LGS'. Never shot one, but they feel so well in my hand I always wanted one. I ordered a couple of 16 rd Mec-Gar mags (Midway limited me to two?) and a Bianchi holster for it.

Is there anything I should know about them?

p.s. - a gun or two will be up for sale soon :banghead:

Congratulations on your order for the CZ75B. I have one in blued. Yes, I agree with you that it fits very well in your hand and it also points naturally. It is very reliable and accurate.

Great gun buy...not much else to say. Nice SA trigger, lengthy DA trigger but manageable. Megcar is a great choice for the aftermarket mags. I bought one back in 06' just after they started producing them. It's been rock-solid with several thousand rounds run through it.

The stainless ones I have seen all had ambidextrous safeties. Does this one?

I'm 99% sure it does. Their website has been down most of the day - placed the order over the phone.

RE: ambi safeties:

The new stainless guns have a slightly-changed frame which incorporates 1) ambi-safeties, 2) an extended beavertail (as seen on the SA models), and 3) reversible mag releases as are found on the SP-01 and P-01.

Good choice. Also muy bueno with the MecGars. Get a Wolff 15# hammer spring pronto, and consider a fiber front sight.

Beautiful pistols. Did you get the matte or polished stainless finish?

Sprung too heavy from the factory.......like a Hi Power?

Polished. I probably would have preferred matte, but they were out of stock - and looked to have been for some time. I have handled the polished ones before and it'll work.

If you are contemplating getting the excellent Kadet Kit .22LR conversion unit, be careful with changing the mainspring (hammer spring) as it may cause unreliability with the .22's. If not, have at it.

I got a CZ75B the other day through a trade. I traded my used XD-40 for a brand new, still in the packing grease CZ. I can say after one range session that I'm very happy I made the trade and don't miss that XD. I carry mine at half cock because I don't feel limited by the longer first trigger pull. Don't really notice it either when practicing drawing.

I have a blued CZ-75b import. Outstanding 9mm shoots just as good as my 1911A1. I think you'll like it and the Mecgar mags are good to go in my experience. I bought a 16 rounder from Midway and haven't had any issues. Mine seems to like 124 gr FMJs loaded to near max with with PowerPistol

Picked up a new 75B last spring that got me buying the CZ82 which in turn caused me to buy a PO-1. I've come to learn that CZ's can be very hard on your wallet.

I have had the 75b stainless for the last five years, 12,000 rounds later--my favorite gun along with my PCR.
Great pistols, accurate, reliable and good looking:)

Hey, I've been looking all over for one of these and can't find a place that has one in stock. Just out of curiosity, have you received yours yet?

There are only two things you should know about the CZ75B:

1. It is one of the most accurate guns you'll ever own.

2. It is a huge piece of junk. Box it up and send it to my FFL, I will give you $20 to cover the postage. I will shoot that dangerously awesome piece of hardware for you.

In all seriousness though, I own some high dollar stuff and the CZ75B, while cheaper than most of it, is probably the most accurate handgun I own. It has also been completely reliable, I've yet to clear a single jam from it.

They're awesome, as a most CZs.

Be wary of Buds though, they are shady to do business with. I'd hound them near daily, as they sell guns they don't have in stock (as in we take your money, even though we don't have the gun for awhile, auction back ordered guns, and have crappy CS and sales reps) and wouldn't want to have them pull a fast one. For every good review they get, there's at least one or two horror stories behind that. Be careful.

Paid for it on 12/20 and my FFL and I did the transfer on 12/26.

I have had one problem with them that really got to me, but......I have purchased around 30 "items" from them in the past 5 years, so 1 time out of 30 ain't bad in my book. And for me to get the CZ in 6 days during Christmas is unbelievable - IMHO.

I will also add (and I have witnesses ;)) that my first shot at 15 yards went dead center bullseye. All follow-up shots were close to the first.

It is the smoothest shooting 9 I have ever owned, and I've owned a few. I let 2 friends at the range shoot it and they have been on a conquest for any CZ 75 they can find.

YMMV

I'm glad it worked out for you, with the gun AND Buds.

I will, however, don't trust nor use them. Nor will I ever. I can find competitive prices anywhere where they treat a paying customer correctly. Auctioning items that have been overbought is not only ridiculous, it's probably criminal somewhere.

But, you don't have THAT problem. You are going to have buyers remorse! You'll want more!

Love those CZ's. For those who think they might not like to own one, like one of my friends used to say,may I suggest you never pick one up. He now owns two. :D

I have bought a dozen or so guns from Buds. Never had any issues. Competitive and they have the guns that are non existant in my LGS. With a $10 transfer and free shipping I save a lot not paying local and state taxes.
Only problem you will have now days is the shortage caused by Obama. All firearms are drying up and going up $.
Consider yourself lucky.

Like I said, shady.

Do you really believe that for every positive transaction with Buds there is 1-2 bad ones? Sorry but you are way off. Their growth and success is proof that that is just not true. Also simple forum reading will show you the vast majority of customer are happy with Bud's and their transactions. I have bought at least 15 guns from them over the last few years. Zero problems. As a matter of fact 2 times in particular they went beyond what was required of them.

This thread alone has close to 30 positive transactions. By your math I would expect to see 30 -60 negative ones. I don't see them. They do a lot of transactions and, BY FAR, the majority go well

The 75B in stainless is one of my favorite guns. Good choice.

There's a guy on the CZ Forum website who sells stainless baseplates for CZ magazines. He makes them in both a matte finish or a polished finish to match your gun. It's a nice touch on an already pretty gun.

60K on a plain jane 75B with lots of custom options. Still shoots outstandingly.

The 15# hammer spring ($7-ish) will be a very noticeable improvement in the DA trigger. It will fire virtually all commercial ammo reliably with this spring.
500-1000rds of dry and live fire will also smooth it out and seat everything nicely.

Good to know....probably order a few for show & tell.

Yeah, I thought I had ordered one - but I got my order from Wolff today and I only received a 14# recoil spring and extractor spring......I guess I forgot to order a new mainspring.

Then you aren't searching well. Also, look at the nature of negative reviews, then get back to me. My experience, along with many others, is in the neighborhood of horrible. So your majority seems quite a bit off.

Also, because a company does shady dealings or has poor CS doesn't mean they can't grow. I've wondered why their prices were low...makes sense.

As for me, I use J&G.

We will just have to agree to disagree on Bud's then. But for what it is worth, I put a Glock G4 19 on layaway with them last month. Paid it off Monday (yesterday) morning. It shipped today and will be at my FFL by end of day Thursday. Less than 4 days from payment to recieving, in this crazy enviroment is impressive. 4 days
