14-2 Three T

I can't think of a way to improve on this timeless design.
(OK, remove the Tyler T for you hardcore purists!) :)

Smooth action, natural in the hand, inexpensive, and shoots like a little rifle.

That's purtier than an Appy colt.

You will enjoy that one.

You sure that's not a 15? 14s usually do not have the sloped front sight in my experience.

Hello friends and neighbors // Nice snag/save, .38 is a great round, smooth yet powerful.

I just looked at a beat 15-3 for $450 ...way too much.
Then lucked into a decent, say good, 3" model 36 no dash for $200 plus 14.00 tax.

No where near that pretty.

BTW the 1905 4th change looks as broken in as the day you sent it and still shoots as sweet.

I am a big fan of the .38 Special revolver. Great design wether it be S&W or old school Colt DA.

I thought the target sights counted as a "T". And I'm sure them Colts ain't inexpensive.

Not much can beat a .38 masterpiece. I feel sorry for those who do not have the privilege to use one. However, recently, my 38/44 outdoorsman is giving it some competition.

I thought the 14 had the partridge front sight and the 15 had the Baughman "quick draw" front sight.

Please don't take this as criticism

I am a fan :D

Looks like 3 Ts to me. Target sights, target trigger, and target hammer.

the balance and trigger of a K-Frame, to me, is on par with the D-Frame Colt.

Perfection? Of course not. Every mechanical device is a compromise.

But I do love me some K-frames.

I think it's be re-barreled with a M15 barrel.

Of course, I didn't buy it as a collectible, so I'm good with it. (pun intended) :)

You just may be right.

In this case, the frame doesn't seem to be contoured like other 15s where the frame meets the barrel.. Looks like a wide ribbed 14 barrel might fit better.

Can it get any better? I don't think so, in the 36 caliber bore, anything that needs to be done can be done very well with the 38 Special. If you need more gun, get a larger bore.

most probably stamped wrong

That is a common S&W "issue"

Even for a single action revolver fiend like myself, there is a hell of a lot of fun and good shooting to be done with a good K-frame .38Spl. My 6" model 14 is one of my prized possessions and always pure pleasure to shoot. Have a 2" model 15 as well but need a 4" and an 8 3/8" to round out the "set".

For those who don't know, it's a S&W 10-5 (dated 1966/67)

S&W guys are saying the profile of the barrel doesn't match the area where it meets the frame.

And I think the pins been molested, too.
