My new favorite revolver

Finally got to take my new (to me) Python to the range. What an AWESOME gun!

Some guys next to me were running a .40 Glock with a bunch of tactical crap on it and just embarrassing themselves. Don't get me wrong, I own and love a Glock 19, but I can actually shoot it pretty well. Anyway, they saw me shooting out the centers of my targets with this old-school steel beast and were all eyes. Pictured is the target from the first cylinder of cartridges I ran through the gun (158-grain .357s). After I became more familiar with the gun, I was quite a bit more accurate. This thing is SMOOTH.

I think I'm going to get some elk bone grips for my Python.

That's a beauty and it shoots good too. That Python blue goes on forever.

If you decide on some bones, get a hold of Patrick Grashorn. He makes some good ones.

This is a pair on my Model 27 packin' iron.

Thanks, Iggy. Those grips look beautiful on that 27. That's exactly what I'm looking for: no-bark with medallions.

I'm normally a S&W guy, and that 27 of yours is FANTASTIC. :what:

I'm pretty fond of my Python now, too. It's kind of worn, and beat up, but it shoots pretty good. It was one of those things I have wanted for years, figured I'd never get because all the ones I've seen for years were collector class, with box and papers and such. Then I found this one, and jumped on it .

That's a fine looking one you got LC.

Enjoy it. I have a 4" and it is among the guns I have that is just a pleasure to shoot. Praying for a 6" to fall into my lap. :)

That is dead sexy. I love Pythons, just can't convince myself to spend the money on one. With my luck, I'd finally decide to pay the premium, and then Colt would re-introduce them back into their standard lineup...

Sweet. I would love to have a 4" Python. I bought a 6" a few years ago when prices were more reasonable. I would trade it for a 4" in a heartbeat.

Thats some good shooting lc, those snakes are like that! I have a 6", it shoots about the same. You'll probably have to keep your eye on that when you go shoot again, the guys with all of the extra things hanging off of theirs will want to trade you! lol Beautiful firearm !

Congrats from a fellow Python owner.

Mine is hands-down the best pointer/shooter I own.

Go ahead and bite the bullet if you want. I wouldn't worry too much about Colt reintoducing the Python, and even if they did, no matter how well made, and finished they were, they would not be an "old" Python. If anything, the prices on those would still go up.

It is funny how Pythons, soon become your favorite firearm.
