Will SOG take my order and credit card payment and ship to my FFL to do the transfer?
I've got a good relationship with a local gunshow dealer and he'll do the transfer cheap if the gun just comes to him pre-paid, I do the paperwork and I pick it up at the next show, good arrangement when it works out.
The FEG B9R also shown in the link is mis-representated, it's virturally noting like a HiPower, much more of a S&W 59 clone -- S&W mags fit but don't function because the hole for the release and notch for the slide stop are different -- I repaired my FEG B9RK 14 round mags by using followers and springs from S&W mags and building up the slide stop notch on the follower with JB Weld so it'd lock open on the last shot.
Decent gun, mine had trouble with 147 gr ammo until I got Wolf +10% mag springs. I might get one if slides are marked as shown.

Anyone ordered from this place before? Do they have a good reputation? Plus, it says at the bottom of the page that they only sell to FFL holders. Hmmm....

I ordered from them once. No problems and item was as described. I'd buy from them again.

I ordered a couple of Makarovs from them a few years ago. Just mailed them a copy of my local dealers FFL and they sent them there.

Maybe they mean that they only ship to FFL holders.

I just received one of these RIA 1911. I had my FFL call them to verify it was ok to order. Then I called back, placed the order, gave them my CC #.
That was on thursday, picked up the gun on the following tuesday from my FFL. Decent gun. It's my first 1911. I know they aren't the best but wanted to see if I would like the platform. Gun is parkerized and the finish is better than expected. The only real flaw that I saw was some of the machining on the MSH could have been done better. Also do not know about the barrel bushing, how tight should the bushing fit into the slide. This one seems a little on the loose side. The sights are also very hard for me to see, but I am just getting used to the new night sights on my Kahr K40, so that may not be helping.

Why is the Thunder .45 OK for sell in Kali in matte finish, but not chrome?

Flashpoint,
Gray Davis, Jack Scott, Don Peratta and a couple of others made CA into a favorite place for HCI or whatever they call their sorry selves these days. Check out the "Hall of Shame" link at www.calnra.org
If you are still in the PRK, you should look at this site every day. Great source. I lived in CA for 46 year and am now in Kentucky. Much easier to get a pistol or rifle here. I can walk out with it same day.
I will always consider CA my home since I was born and raised and lived (probably) longer than I will anywhere else. Too bad the Democrat buttholes in the Legislature and the biggest butthole of all time, Governor Gray Davis (recalled, disgraced turd ) made it a nightmare to own and buy guns there.
Once your gun rights are gone, you will likely never get them back in the PRK.

To get on the DOJ Kali approved gun list (sale of new guns), the gun must be submitted for testing (3 guns). When it passes the test, the approved gun is identical to the tested one, even in finish. If they only submitted blued guns for testing then blued guns will be approved. As an owner, you can send it out for hard chrome or refinishing but you can only buy it new in the identical finish as the tested gun (although that is under some contention).

How are those P220 prices?

That's not a bad price... I've played with an RIA and I liked it. While it's not the best milspec out there, there are certainly a lot worse. A good "I think I want to try out a 1911" type gun.
Go for it.

That's got to be way up there on the how stupid can you get list. Glad I live in the backwards state of Ar-can-saw:D

I have been thinking of using a RIA 1911 to nickel plate and put new sights on for a CCW.

The RIA is the best Mil-Spec out there, IMO, especially for the money. The F&F is better then the Springfield, and it uses all steel parts unlike the Colt.
True, the frame and slide are cast, but I see that as a non-issue, personally. I love mine, turned down a Springer for it, and havent regretted it once.

DJcharlie...Rock island armory pistols are essentially Armscor 1911s.

Yep, Armscor/Charles Daly/ Rock Island are the same parts, with seperate assembly protcols.
