Floor mat for reloading bench?

I occasionally drop a primer on the painted concrete garage floor where my reloading bench is located. It can be a real chore finding those little boogers.

What do you folks put on the floor to keep them from skittering away? Rubber mat? Carpeting?

Thanks in advance,
Dan in

I bought the cushion mats from Harbor Freight. They seem to work fairly well. They also help the knees and back when loading standing up.

Rubber bad(bounce), carpeted runners, maybe.
I'm loading in a carpeted room(very short carpet) and they don't go far at all.

Inflatable wading pool.

Never mind.

I try my best not to drop primers.
Live ones or fired ones.

I got the live ones corralled years ago with a RCBS hand primer tool.

Spent ones almost, with some deflectors on the press that puts them in the primer catcher.

I was just thinking about that too. To double for fumbling something nice onto the concrete floor too. I'm thinking something short napped and pretty dark.. the woman got a black rug/mat for the kitchen and the tiniest speck shows up on that thing.

I don't care enough about dropped primers to put something down. However, I DO care about my knees and ankles, and my feet on cold concrete floors, so I bought a Sears rubber mat that I stand on while loading. My legs thank me.

I use clear carpet runners around the reloading bench (on top of carpet). More to deal with powder residues and any lubes being dripped. Does make it easier to see primers, but I try to avoid dropping live ones.

I use ether kids or wife to recover dropped primers. The wife is more fun to watch recovering them.

Thanks for your input. I just ordered the mat below. $5.00 off. There is an identical mat for $25 so be sure to follow the link to get the correct one. It is foam rubber but has a textured finish. I'll let you know if it bounces the primers, lol.

I've got a soft squishy rubber mat at my bench. Was found at Wal Mart in their kitchen section, meant to be placed at the sink or anywhere you stand for a long period of time...

It's nice because it gives me something soft to stand on, as opposed to concrete, and it helps cushion anything that's dropped onto it. So instead of a piece of brass or primer bouncing half way across the floor, it usually stops somewhere on the pad. It's black, so anything on it stands out easily.
