I was at Wholesale Sports today in central OR, they are selling the Hornaday 8th edition hardback for $9.99.
Seemed like a good deal.

Do they list new and different calibers in addition to their previous listings?

That seems like the going rate for the 8th edition now that the 9th edition has been released.

Good stuff but is missing some of the new powder, bullets and cartridges that have been released in the last few years.

I was surprised Hornady brought out a new reloading manual (#9) only 2 years after they released their previous new reloading manual (#8) but I realized it was because so many reloaders were so upset with Hornady and their #8 manual. It seems just after Hornady released their #8 reloading manual they also released a bunch of new bullets so their new manual didn't support their new bullets. Add to that a few powders came out over the past few years it's was a very good idea for Hornady to release a new manual. I didn't buy #8 but I did get #9 a few weeks ago.

If you're not worried about the newer powders or the most current Hornady bullets their #8 reloading manual is a very good buy at only $10. It's probably the only fairly current load manual with data written specifically for the M1 Garand. I'm not sure about hornady #8 but Hornady #9 also has .223 Service Rifle load data.

#8 has .223 service rifle data too.

#8 is excellent for what it contains but a lot of new powder have hit the market lately. I wish Sierra would offer updates for their notebook-type manual. Then you could just update the data for the ammo you reload.

Yes, the Sierra manual is getting a bit old.

I don't know why Sierra doesn't bring out a new manual and an update for the old one.Just add or replace pages in the old manual(should have read Ky Larry's post before I posted)

I agree. Didn't they use a binder so they could release updates and they could be put in the book? I always thought that's why they made their book the way they did.

I've been seeing the Sierra 5th Edition on sale most places. Maybe there's an update at the printers? I personally would rather have a Lyman's 50th edition.

As far as the Hornady 8th goes, it added some new info over the 7th that I cared about like data for IMR 8208XBR powder and data for the .308 Marlin Express but it was missing other information almost the instant that it was published. The Mono Flex bullets were released about two months later. The .277 cal 120gn SST for the 6.8SPC came out almost concurrent with the manual and wasn't included. It was a much needed update, but it was also disappointing.
