My favorite handgun cartridge to load for would probably be the .357 mag. with JHP's and a stout charge of H110.

High powered rifle would likely be the .270 win. RL19, 130 gr. BT.

Seems I use H4895 for dang near everything in longer than an 8" rifled BBL of late...

Shotguns ? HS-6

Small stuff ? HS-6 and w-231.

I still have #'s and #'s of Unique sittin on the shelf...... Its useful in a lot of things, and will probably sit there until I need it. Backup on pistol, pump shotguns, and low, low power rifle........

That's a very personal question, but I'll answer it anyway.

* .357 Magnum: cast- Herco, jacketed- usually TiteGroup or 2400.

*.40 S&W: jacketed- Longshot exclusively.

(new one for me, yet to be tested) .405 Winchester: jacketed- Reloder 15.

Calibers - something in .223 through .311 in rifles, and .380 through 454 in handguns.

Powders - Alliant, Ramshot, IMR, Hodgdon, Accurate, Winchester......

Pretty much run the gambit on them. Hard to single out any one in particular as I have various loads for various purposes.

Changes as I change weapons.

Currently - 300 Blackout -147(150) bullets - Olin 630 powder
One back - .223/5.56 - 55grHP / H4895
And.. - 308/7.62 / 147(150) / 748
and... - 40S&W / 155 JHP&lead / 231
This continues on for 50 years.

Generalities, I like 748 powder for rifles and 231 for pistols, but also have used: BLC(2), IMR 4831, IMR 4895, 3031, H110/296, Olin 630, unique, 2400, varget, tighgroup.....

Lets see---------I reload 35 calibers of metallic cartridge, 10, 12, 16, 20, 28 gauge, and 410. I have about 40 different propellants on hand most times and a bit of black powder/substitute. I will not be typing all that out.:neener: Suffice it to say that I do not need to go to the store when I want to try a new load for most anything I choose to attempt. I do not have many VV propellants however for whatever reason.
