Reading all the statistics, articles about shooting sprees and summaries i failed to find atleast one that happend in school that was not a gun-free zone.
Do you know such case?
If not, that would be great argument against gun-free zones and current gun banning spree.

Thanks

with the exception of gabriele giffords, every shooting with 3 or more dead since 1950 was in a gun free zone.

I recall at least a couple that were stopped by people with guns.
However the guns were out in personally owned cars, so were not immediate in stopping anything. Yet they were what eventually stopped further bloodshed.

There has been several more attempts at massacres than actual massacres.
One of the problems is the severity and newsworthiness of a massacre is often determined by body count. Those that are stopped after only a couple are killed don't go down on the books as a massacre, and as a result don't go down on the books as a massacre that was stopped.
So you will find few massacres stopped because if they were stopped early they are not known as a massacre.

If the recent school shooting had resulted in him being shot earlier on then it would not have made national news. It would not have been a big deal. It might have been mentioned in that state's news. What was even happening might not have been clear in the resulting low budget story.
Followups that made the actual details clear would have been limited or non existent.
Some guy shot, few details on why or what was going on prior, ongoing investigation, etc Never to be heard about again.

There was an armed deputy at columbine.

However, he was at lunch when the shooting started, and when he did engage Harris and klebold, it was from outside the building.

Additionally he had neglected to wear his prescription eye wear that day.

Remember, even in Utah, where we can carry at schools, it is under exception to federal law. Federal law prohibits carry within a certain distance from a school unless specifically permitted by the state. If anyone, including a permit holder, carries a gun with the intent to commit a crime, they are in violation of the law. Meaning, there is no such thing as a non gun-free zone for mass shooters.

Post #3 is correct. All mass shootings in the last 20 years except Tuscon have occurred in gun-free zones.

John Lott, economist and gun-rights advocate, has extensively studied mass shootings and reports that, with just one exception, the attack on U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson, Arizona, in 2011, every public shooting since 1950 in the U.S. in which more than three people have been killed has taken place where citizens are not allowed to carry guns. The massacres at Sandy Hook Elementary, Columbine, Virginia Tech and the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, all took place in gun-free zones.

Thanks for yours replys.

What other states besides Utah allows guns at schools? Ive heard about New Hampshire and Washington (apparently notthe D.C. one).

Ive found one shooting at school that allows guns - in Izrael and in this case attacker was shot by armed student.

Yep, there's one where the guard was shot, but it is a false premise to point out that there have been no school shootings where the school wasn't a "gun free zone" simply because there are so few mass murders at grade schools and there are over 98,000 public schools in the U.S.

Still, it can be used to driver an emotional point that there have been no mass murders where the possibility existed for an armed person to be present. The double value in that might be to cause someone to reply that there haven't been many mass murders in schools at all and that trail can be used to inoculate them against an AWB.

There was one massacre at a gun heavy area.
There wasn't a school, but there was a day care,
The suspect didn't use a gun, he used a bomb.
Oklahoma City, 1995, lest we forget...

Thats where Ive been pointing to.
But I would like to mix Europe into it.
After all, school shootings are used as arguments for tightening gun laws, but school shootings arent exclusive to US. Lets say that Connecticut has more in common with Germany or Finland than with Utah. And gun-free zones are the only common piece.
