I'm trying to work up a load with 180gr Barnes TSX. I have a winchester model 70 with a 26" barrel. I am looking for a match load and am trying to find a good long range load.

I have no experience with Barnes. With bullet weights in 180Gr I’ve found IMR4350 to be very consistent.

Some people recommend the slow burning RL22 for 180gr 06, accuracy is supposed to be good and Nosler #6 has it as the highest speed of them all in 180gr. Never treid it myself but now that my Deep Curls are in I am itching to give it a try. RL22 shoots remarkably well (and fast) in my 6.5x55 with its hefty 140gr pills so I don't doubt that one bit.
If you want a long ranged match load might I reccomend Serria Match Kings instead, Serrias are in genral the most accurate bullets I have ever loaded and their ballistics are far better then the TSX or even the TTSX.

I use Sierra #2160 over 55.3 grains of IMR 4350. Prints 1/2" groups at 100 yards and goes about 2700 fps out of my 22" barrel.

Nosler says 61gr is the max charge, but most people who I know that use 180gr say 59gr is the sweet spot. No need to hit max pressures since this is the fastest powder listed for the 06 pushing a whopping 2777fps with a 59gr charge and a staggering 2872fps at max (faster then some factory 300 Win Mag), which BTW is not max due to pressure but rather the limit of how far you can compress a load with RL22 114%
I cannot vouch for the accuracy of these loads since I live in whitetail country and have not need for anything heavier then my 165gr Game Kings which drop my game with an authority.

They don't play by the same rules, or use the same loads as conventional cup & core 165 & 180 gr Sierra Game Kings!

I have loaded TSX bullets in 30-06 before and there is not a world of difference between them and conventional bullets. Same rules apply, start low and work up, you will get a slight reduction in effective case capacity due to copper being slightly lighter then lead, and hence taking up more space in the case, that is why I listed the data for the slightly lower charge as well. I used starting load data from cup and core bullets working up my load with no pressure signs. BTW starting charge is listed at 57gr RL22 2682fps.

I agree 4350 is a great 30-06 powder but I go in a slightly different direction with H4350. I use it for all bullets 165gr and heavier in the 30-06.
