Then the best place to look is in almost any reloading manual.

You Do have a reloading manual don't you??

If not, I would suggest the Lyman #49.

click on ""click here to enter"
click on "cartridge loads"
pull down "load type"
select "pistol"
Pull down " "cartridge"
select "32 S&W" Long"
click on "get data"

You will be presented with a chart that has "83 GR. BERB HBWC" for bullets with Universal, HP-38, and Tightgroup powders. The COL [over all length of the cartridge] is 0.920".
You will also see "98 GR. SPR LHBWC " that is also .920".
This short over all length means the bullets are shoved down in the case and hidden like the head of a frightened turtle.
But the "90 GR. HDY LSWC " data is for 1.185", which is not as long as the longest, 1.29", that will fit in your revolver [I assume], but the bullet will be sticking out of the case.
I know this, because the 32 S&W Long case is .920" long.
