On a more serious note, I think there's a little tin-foil-hattery on that rant, but I agree with the general premise - the people in office who want to enact an AWB are doing so to further a political agenda that does not line up with the Constitution.

Well, maybe. I personally think that the time of politically correct responses is over. These guys have created a perfect society for the ruling class in this country. Maybe we are approaching that time in history where we have to retake our country from these thieves.

There are only two ways to influence humans to do something: logic or force.

Unless you plan on an armed insurrection, then "logic" has to be used to influence opinions.

Logical, rational arguments are very different than "politically correct responses"....and both of those are different than what is printed in that ad.

If we plan on convincing Americans and elected representatives to preserve our rights, then profanity-laced rants aren't going to do much except make the person who wrote it feel better. It most definitely won't influence someone's opinion to change.

It's the God given right of the owner of that website to say what he feels needs to be said whether you agree or now. Whether you think it helps or not. Personally I agree with him or her. The time for PC is over.

To who? Wayne Lapierre presented a well thought out cordial but firm statement and was still labeled a blood thirsty neanderthal by countless Liberals. Visit the Democratic Underground and see what courtesy gets you, it's like trying to negotiate with rabid hyenas.

You and I will just have to disagree, myself I'm sick and tired of getting labeled a lunatic by the likes of Diane Feinenstein et al and don't intend to just smile and talk softly in reply.

Agreed. They don't play fair. I've had conversations with middle grounders and anti's, they're not very nice about their views. Time we put our foot down.

We need to start a campaign to ban cars, they kill countless children every year, probably more than in CT.

Swimming pools need to be banned. Lots of accidental drownings when pools are unsupervised (try locking one of them in a safe).

Enforce driving while impaired laws. Yea, right, how many elected officials go around half in the bag and are turned loose by the arresting officers.

An awful lot of children are being injured in high school sports, some even die. If one death is too many, we must ban high school sports. Like that is going to happen.

Put a stop to bullying in the schools and on the internet. Again, one death is too many to accept.

The list could go on.

None of the above are hot button topics and get the media attention they deserve. The numbers just are not big enough for our elected officials and media to care.

Rant off.

The company I work for has had major problems with our funding lately. Some companies involved became angry, and lashed out. The response was not accepted very well.

My company took the high road (sorry, no pun intended). We have been patient, offered assistance in fixing the problem, and supported those that were in a place to make difficult decisions. This had the greatest effect in us remaining employed, and furthering our chunk of the work.

I agree it's best to present the best possible image to serve our cause better.

We've tried that...hasn't worked yet, although I suppose I should withhold judgement until a AWB is or isn't enacted.

Please tell me that you said that with your tongue planted in your cheek... Otherwise, I hope you will think about what you just said and reconsider such remarks. The exact problem we're fighting is that the ban-happy media and government have intentionally lumped us in with disturbed, unbalanced individuals who perpetrate unspeakable crimes like the ones in CO, CT, and so on.

We would all be better served by keeping more level, carefully articulating heads on our shoulders.

Look, I'll grant you that the time may come when those of us who understand the implications of the 2nd Amendment relative to a tyrannical government will have hard choices to make. But, we're not there yet. And, even if we get there, we ought to learn the lessons of countless revolutionaries throughout history... Reason and statesmanship are as vital to advancing the cause of freedom as fervor and arms.

To the average Joe/Jane non gun owner who is on the fence over whether to support a gun or mag ban. It makes us look like blood thirsty gun nuts, which scares them, and certainly does not encourage them to be on our side.

We need to influence gun owners who do not think others should have ARs, and think that Feinstein won't be back to take their deer hunting rifle, and non gun owners who know next to nothing about guns, which makes them susceptible to the anti rhetoric.

Thanks for being honest but we'll just have to differ. If I spend one ounce of effort it won't be coddling Ward and June Cleaver, it'll be spent concentrating on influencing congress critters and exposing Feinstein, Schumer and McCarthy for the Authoritarians they are.

It happened in the mid 1770's. That worked out pretty well if I recall.
