Journalist Alex Jones and Infowars.com are calling for President Barack Obama to issue an executive order amending the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990. The executive order will establish the White House, all federal buildings and federal events as gun free zones and all federal security personnel will turn in their guns. We also demand the order apply to private schools such as Sidwell Friends School attended by the president’s daughters. This petition is a response to government and corporate media dismissing a call for armed guards at schools following the Sandy Hook shooting. Jones and Infowars.com believe there should not be a double standard. If the government believes gun free zones are a solution for citizens, the same standard should apply to government servants and employees.

Deadman December 28, 2012, 03:43 PM It won't solve anything, but well done Alex, ya' crazy mofo! :D
Yo Mama December 28, 2012, 05:30 PM I really don't get these petitions, they look like a second grader wrote them.
lobo9er December 28, 2012, 05:35 PM it does make a good point though. fair for one is fair for all.
05kas05 December 29, 2012, 03:15 PM good point? im not sure, i mean if they did do this and then said ok we got rid of ours now its time to get rid of yours here is the executive order what would you do then? i mean in your words whats fair for one is fair for all.
i think all these random petitiones popping up from all over might take away from the serious nature of the one or two out there that we should actually be trying to get the signatures on. just my .02 cents worth.i may be wrong as i am new to the political side of things so if i am please enlighten me.
lobo9er December 29, 2012, 05:44 PM Enlighten you? They would never do that. Guns are essential part of protection for the president, as they should be. It proves a point that guns are used for protection, for good, for those that are in high places. Its either you like the angle or you don't, not much room for argument.
hso December 29, 2012, 09:20 PM This isn't a "fair for one fair for all" situation.
You'd have to be completely out of touch with reality to not understand that the enemies of the United States consider POTUS and the First Family to be prime targets for an attack. Add lunatics within the U.S. into that. There are a lot of credible threats to POTUS and the First Family as a result just of the office. Security details are assigned to POTUS and the First Family because of this threat assessment.
You or I or even our kids' school don't have the same level of credible threats directed at us/them. Therefore there's no comparison between the threats to POTUS and First Family and you or I or any school. There's no "fair for one/fair for all" since the threat assessments are so different.
lobo9er December 30, 2012, 01:17 AM their threat level maybe higher but the common denominator for protection is firearms. no difference there. Also may be different depending what part of town you live in. I would ague that in certain areas a regular citizen is in far more danger than POTUS. IMO its either you like this angle or not. this is some what satire, only trying to make a point IMO also.
Kevin5098 December 30, 2012, 01:31 AM Of course the petitions are simply a means for creating the illusion that you have a voice in this administration.
Deus Machina December 30, 2012, 01:31 AM You or I or even our kids' school doesn't have the same level of credible threat against us/them. Therefore there's no comparison between the threats to POTUS and First Family and you or I or any school. There's no "fair for one/fair for all" since the threat assessments are so different.
I agree there, but taken to a further extreme that is also the exact reasoning behind the 'elite crowd' antis' argument.
I think that's what the petition is making a point on.
Cooldill December 30, 2012, 01:36 AM I can see where Alex is going with this but not so sure it is going to help our cause.
hso December 30, 2012, 08:03 AM These sort of thing make us look like cranks and drive a wedge between us and those we might persuade to see our side of the argument on "good" vs. "evil" firearms.
MagnumDweeb December 30, 2012, 10:36 AM Signed it. They use petitions to push us. We need to use petitions to push back.

Oh, how does that work?
Why doesn't THR staff just come out and admit honestly that you want to AJ's user base to become your user base, and be done with it?
BTW, since AJ was mentioned, this thread should be locked, and there needs to be another moderator chiming in how bad AJ is to make it official.
