For the longest time the 92fs was my favorite 9mm handgun for a full size. Well, it has competition for favorite 9mm. The SR9's trigger is a step behind the M&P series IMHO but the dang thing points like it is the sixth finger that has been missing from hand my whole life. Its a dang nail driver, accurate as heck. The SR9 was a real surprise to me, seriously. It just points so naturally for me that I bet I could shoot it pretty well without the sights. I was just in awe of the inherent accuracy. And, thinking back, I think it had less felt recoil than the Beretta. But enough talk, on to the videos

The Ruger SR9 I shot may be the most accurats pistol I've shot. Not counting some target .22's.

I would have one, if it fit my hand better. I may yet have one.

I have an SR9 fullsize and the grip fit my hand much better when I added a Hogue Handall slip on grip!

I'll admit to giving no love to the Ruger. Because they (circa P-89) used to be so ugly in my eyes I sorta wrote them off. Well that's changed. The LCP has nice lines and LC-9 is a very handsome pistol in my eyes. Then the SR series has really nice lines as well. Plus Rugers have always been well-made.

I almost bought a P90 in the late 1990s, but it was too top/front heavy for my tastes.
I also don't care for slide mounted safeties.
The SR9 is just about everything I could want in a pistol. Comfortable, reliable, accurate, and soft shooting.
If only they'd make an SR45.

I have an SR9 compact that is my every day carry. on active duty I hated the M9 with a passion but I shot it well enough to qualify with an expert rating in accuracy with it. the last time I shot my SR9C I tied my best score with the M9 in a mockup qual shoot. the only gun I've been able to shoot better was my XDM45 compact. never have been able to shoot a glock or M&P nearly as accurately.

out of curiosity, what ranges were those targets at?

Oh, sorry. 14 yards.

I've tried to like the SR9 - but just can't make myself do it.

But, we all have our favorite gun - doesn't make the others bad.

The Beretta will always remain a favorite of mine. I still think the 92 looks better than the SR9 too.

I don't know of any Ruger for which I would trade one of my Berettas.

Guess I'm in a minority, but even with Ruger's older pistols - I have a P95 AND a Beretta 92FS and I still think the Ruger is the better gun.

Still, the Beretta is interesting from the standpoint of being the sidearm of the US military and like mesinge I mostly just accumulate (only handguns I've ever sold have been a 1911 that gave me a lot of trouble and a Hi Point C9 that I just didn't care to keep).

I've never sold a gun. I did trade my brother my XDM45 for his XDM9 with some ammo trades to make it so we came out even. I kindof agree with the guy in that I am a minority though. I fondled a P89 Ruger at the last gunshow with nice overmolded rubber grips. despite both the M9/92 and P89 being very similar designs with the same horrible(in my opinion) safety style and a slightly more bulky design to the P89 I would probably take the ruger if I had to choose.
