No, the blade is heat treated, but cryo is a separate processing step to convert the retained austenite to martensite and refine grain. This is done after heat treat.

"I think they forge the blade..."

The AUS 8 blade is stock reduced and not forged. They basically grind away what isn't knife as opposed to pound the hot metal into a nearly final shape.

The Aegis is a good knife at a good price point.

Yes you are correct sir. The mic sometimes males the words come out wrong. I can't get over how sharp it is.
