Looking for recommendation on where to buy FN SCAR 16S

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to pick up a SCAR 16s rifle in black. Having a pretty hard time locating one at a fair price these days with all the panic buying going on. I was hoping the good folks of THR can point me in the right direction. Is there anyone out there you would recommend working with for low prices and good service?
Thanks in advance!

Unless you have a time machine to go back 2 weeks in time, based on gunbroker, you're going to pay $3500+. Wait out the panic or "overpay."

Wait I shall do then...
Looks like I'll need to cruise to some gun shops and see if I can get lucky.

Is there a specific reason you want a SCAR 16S? I originally did too, but wasn't willing to spend $2400 on one when you could have gotten a high quality DI AR-15 for much less. I've also read that getting spare parts for SCARs is next to impossible.
I settled on a Daniel Defense M4V7...I was supposed to take it home tonight, but I have a 'Delay' on my NICS check... I did get to fondle it though... seems fairly decent quality.
Regardless, now is an awful time to buy anything black or tacticool. This dealer quoted someone $1695 for a Bushmaster...that was going for what 800-900 a few weeks ago? I don't begrudge the dealer - that seems to be the going rate for these 'cheap' ARs.

My nephew has one set up complete with a real ACOG sight, I was just talking to him about it a few hours ago, and he was debating selling it when I showed him what they were going for on GB.

The problem seems to be that everyone wants to participate in the panic buying, hence the current prices. I can't imagine you would think someone would sell you one at a "reasonable" price right now.

ask around at the fnforum... may find a seller

Good luck on finding anything cheap, it is a supply and demand thing. When demand is high so are prices, when demand is down so are prices. If there ever is a flood of extra SCAR's on the market you will see reasonable prices again, if not then get something else.

The SCAR is a darn good rifle and line has been great. Getting spares (extractor, firing pin, cam pin) wasn't hard either.
Would I buy one now with a $1k panic surcharge on it? No. But you'll be paying near that much extra on any 'evil' rifle until supply catches back up with demand.

I'm not counting on supply catching up with demand here, but it looks like I'll be waiting until all the panic buyers are fat and happy. The panic buying market is only so big for a relatively expensive and uncommon rifle like the SCAR. Once all the people who want one NOW get one and they start to sit on the shelves again, dealers will be forced to lower the prices back down to where they normally would be to get them selling again.

Which is still quite high. If you want a SCAR, by all means, get a SCAR. But if what you want is a 5.56mm autoloader that will perform on par with the dollars spent, a top-tier AR in the same price range will give you the performance you're paying for, at the cost of (relative) ownership exclusivity.

MachIV- Are you saying a $2500 AR build will perform better than a $2500 SCAR? Can you elaborate?
