I picked up one used today and it doesn't look like it has been fired. The hammer and trigger has a different finish than the rest of the revolver (stainless). Are these a different type of metal or are they stainless that has been treated to give the different appearance?
I would like to get it all one color if I can but I don't want to dig in without knowing what I have to work with.
Thanks.

Oh yeah, its a 629-6, not a 626.

Smith used steel hammer and triggers and used a matte finish chrome to approximate the color of stainless.

I was afraid of that. Thanks.
