Early Christmas present thanks to WOA

I ordered this rifle (complete except for the stripped lower that I already had) from WOA a couple of months ago and John told me it was an 18 week lead time. So that would have put me at late Feb for my Rifle to arrive. UPS dropped it on my doorstep at 3:50 today. I have no idea how in the current political climate John was able to cut 7 weeks off of his lead time but thanks John for the fast service.

His work is top notch. You can tell that just from handling the gun. The rear sight is very tight. there is no slop in it at all. I can't wait to get to the range and test it out.

All of the parts:

All ready for my 1st service rifle match.

Nice going I like the classic look of it.

Nice! Is that with one of the Wilson 1-7" barrels with a .223 Wylde chamber? If so, you have no excuses for not making Master with it. :p (I'm on my second WOA Wilson barrel and I haven't heard of anybody getting a bad one yet.)

Now what are you going to use for ammo to go with?

Not sure of the barrel manufacturer, but it is 1 in 7 with a .223 Wylde chamber.

Sure I will. The excuse will be my bad shooting :D

Just 77gr SMK for a while until I start to see my shooting improve enough that I can see 80 gr make a difference. Propelled by RL15.

All up cost for the entire WOA order including the pinned rear sight and the Guiessle SSR trigger was a shade over $1000.00 shipped. Add the stripped lower at around $90ish and it is a pretty cheap AR as I look at Gunbroker and see the $1300 Bushmasters with 39 bids on it.

Naw, no bad shooting. Just don't accept "close enough"! That's the difference between a High Master and the rest of us. They won't take the shot unless it looks perfect; the rest of us say "looked good." :p

Nothing wrong with that combo. A couple of seasons ago I couldn't source Varget and ended up using RL-15, Remington 7 1/2s and Nosler 77s. If you're going to shoot a magazine-length bullet at 600 yards, a good shooting 77gr load is probably the best way to go.

Very nice.

So, you are bringing that out to Perry this year, right?

His pinned rear sights are nice but... Focus on the front :)

Yes, the front.

;)

Pinned rears are nice though. And for aging guys like me, corrective lens inserts are nice, too. And a wider front sight post.
