Hi,

I would like to purchase a blackpowder kit but Im not sure what to get and what to avoid.

I would like something to build and be able to fire. I dont intend on using it often or hunting, etc with it. It will mostly be a static gun.

My family used to produce various rifles in the late 1800's, famous for their Kentucky long rifles and another colorful story.

How would anyone rate the Traditions Kentucky Percussion Rifle Kit KR52206?

It's a really decent shooting rifle for the price and can be finished to look very good. Some Traditions kits may have a trouble spot or two, but I'm pretty sure that Traditions would make good on any defective part and can supply any replacements if necessary.
It does have a longer 33" barrel which can make it more difficult to clean. But if you're not going to be shooting it a lot then that shouldn't be a major issue.
