I'm curious about these. I assume they are just another Rock Island quality .45 but I like to be pleasantly surprised. If you have shot one, write a cliff note review. Thank you in advance.

My Father has the ATI 1911 and it runs just fine.

I have a Citadel Tactical 1911 Compact 1911 and use it for my EDC. I have ran the tar out of mine with Steel case ammo and it has never missed a beat. I think these are made by the same manufacture.

Both my Father and I run Winchester pdx1 in them with no issues at all. Dad's finish was a little thin but it still looks great after a year.

I'm sure you will be happy with the ATI.

The ATI is made by Shooters Arms, out of the Philippines, whereas Citidel is made by Armscor. Armscor is also from the Philippines, and makes Rock Island.

I owned a Rock Island Tactical 1911, and I was pretty happy with it for the price. However, my dad owned an ATI Commander, and it was a clear notch or two above the Rock Island in terms of fit and finish. I was very impressed by the ATI.

I would choose the RIA over the ATI all day every day and three times on Sunday. While the ATI is a well fit, nice looking pistol there are an alarming number of folks reporting parts breakages from hammers to recoil parts to ejectors.

If I wanted a nice looking, solid entry level 1911 I'd choose the STI Spartan. Before someone claims they're the same as an RIA but cost more...no, they are not. The slide and frame are manufactured by Armscor to STI's specifications. The internals are made by STI stateside and shipped to the PI where they are assembled by a group of workers trained by STI. For about $200 more than a base model Rock, you'll get a 1911 I'd certainly be proud to own.

I have had one for a few years. I have put 4000 rounds of cast lead down the tube.

I have had one item break (The hammer) but it was my own stupidity (Dry fired without slide on) and customer service has been terrific.

I also bent (And even though it was technically my fault, they should not have bent so easy) the slide stop and the thumb safety. I suspect that if I were more careful, they would not have bent but none-the-less I still think a higher quality part would not have bent.

So, given what I paid for it and the good service I say it was worth the money.

I got the ATI full size Military and the Officers model. Both are flawless performers and a good value for the money. Highly recommend.

I have the GI model that I bought right before I bought a Sig 1911. I sold the Sig, and kept the ATI.

I should add that like bikerdoc indicated the gun has performed very well. The only issue I ever had was again, due to my stupidity of not properly cleaning the un-diluted alox from my loads and after about 500 rounds it clogged up (Of course at an IDPA match) but one spray from some cleaner and it was back in business.

I was really impressed with the ATI and the American Classic. I could carry either one with a regret.
