I am gearing up to start reloading for my 44 mag. What are your thoughts on the Rainier LeadSafe bullets? I have never used them but the price caught my eye.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I use Rainiers for all my reloading with the exception of .30-06 (because they don't make one for that) and .44 Magnum (because I shoot a .44 Desert Eagle and it requires near-max loads). There is nothing wrong with the LeadSafe rounds that I have found.

It depends on what you're going to use the gun for. If for hunting, a Keith-style SWC or else an XTP Hornady ... the one you choose depends on the game and the velocity of your load. Some HP-XTPs come apart easily at high speeds.

There is always a work-a-round.
Get a 'Hot-glue' gun. Oil the nose and hollow point bullet, run a dob of 'hot-glue' onto the bullet, let it setup/cool. It will fall off. Trim the glue dob to fit into your seating die and adjust the seating depth. After a hundred or so rounds, a new glue dob may be needed.
The noise/hollow point is not deformed.

presspuller, I wouldn't hesitate. I've used the Rainier bullets in a 500 S&W Mag rifle and had good results.
