That looks cool. Wonder how much they are going to run. I may have to up mu budget on for the 338 lapua scope.

the beast? I was expecting more. 5-25 is nothing new. Who needs 20 mils in one turn? Better illumination, it's about time.

atacr, sfp fail.

Cool stuff...

That will be awesome for the 1k game.

BEAST has been vaporware for years. Looks like it's finally coming to the market. 20 mills in a single turn benefits the user in that it reduces the possibility of getting lost on a multi-turret design under stress with larger magnum calibers and exteme long ranges past 1000 yards. If the user requirements is built on KISS, a single-turn turret with a zerostop satisfies that principle.

It looks like NF is trying to enter something to compete with the US Optics, Schmidt & Benders, and Hensoldts. Schmidt & Bender has the same one-turn turret option on their popular PM series of riflescopes but their elevation only goes to 13 mils, more than enough for most calibers.

If you want excessive, Carl Zeiss Optronics went with two 18 mil turns on their Hensoldt 3.5-26x56mm

I prefer the US Optics EREK knobs, but yeah -- I wouldn't mind 20 mils in one turn.

The EREK is sweet in that it's large diameter turret spaces the individual hashes far enough away that it's easy to dial in .1mils without error. Mine is on a Mk12 and I don't have the need or ability to crank it past the first 9mil turn. I also like the scalloped grip turret design and got the matching M40-style windage knob.

The 5-25 S&B PMII has a double turn turret, with 13 mil/revolution. I do occasionally go into the second rev, but the majority of my shooting is in the first.

I think their biggest mistake with these three new scopes is making the ATACR SFP. If that optic was FFP, and less than the comparable S&B, USO and Premier, they'd have a hit on their hands.

I still need that 15-55. ;)

Prices are up on Optics planet also:
BEAST $3298
15-55 $2321
ATACR $2328

As far as BEAST features go:

- Proprietary 360 brake control allows you to instantly secure your elevation adjustments

What is this for? Why is this an important feature to have? IMO, you already have a zero stop, is this just a lock so that the turret doesn't get bumped?
