Going to look at a RSR special 640 in .357 has the unfluted cylinder, factory maganaport product code 170073

Anybody own one or has owned one I would like your opinions. Not sure I want a 2 1/8" ported barrel. asking $600.00 for this one so not in a real hurry to jump on it and not a big J frame fan. Your going to have to talk me into this one.

Personally?

You couldn't run me down and beat me hard enough to make me buy a ported .357 Snubby!

But I'm already half deaf, and don't want or need to get any deafer.

Same goes for buying a .357 Snubby.

If one of my .38 Spl J-Frames won't ger-R-done, I probably should have brought a .44 or .45.

I'm with rc on this one. I own a Pro Series 640-1 and think very highly of it. There is no way I would have a version that's ported. Noise aside, I'm trying to envision a retention position with those ports blowing off gas in my face, no thanks.

I pretty much converted to the Speer 135 grain 38 +P GDHP as a carry round, and am officially done with the .357 J frame, BUT a PC gun for $600? That's a yes. Various .38 J frames with less to recommend them go for more at auction. Could you get a 442 pro series for that right now?
