This is a video worth spreading. It asks important questions, corrects serious misconceptions about violent crime in America, and does so in a thoughtful and academic tone that many who are not in the gun culture will be able to relate to.

I strongly recommend this video for any of your friends who exist squarely outside of the 'gun culture', and are on the fence about the potential benefits of new gun legislation.

It's also useful for those who are already strongly pro-gun, because it is a good example of how to strike an academic, rather than testosterone-driven, tone when conducting these arguments.

I've shared that video on Facebook. It is very informative. Sadly, a lot of the anti's don't care. One I was debating on Facebook refused to even acknowledge any facts I presented only stating if the guns weren't there they couldn't be stolen and every gun needs to confiscated. My dad isn't even a gun guy but he is on our side and acknowledges its all a fear campaign, with no basis in reality. And with fear proper facts and logic have no place with most people.

Carter: You're right that the anti-gun folks won't listen to reason, but those aren't the minds we need to change. I believe that this video is capable of making an impact on the thoughtful, fence-sitting person who has little understanding of gun policy or gun culture.
