I have recently acquired a Model 1000 12ga with a 2 3/4" receiver and a 28" barrel with the Multi-Choke system.

I has Gold inlay on the receiver. I have seen a lot of these for sale online and all have Silver inlay.

Does anyone know the significance of the Gold?

It is more than likely that someone did it themselves with the "goldstik" available from Midway and Brownells...

That makes total sense.

The areas around the bolt release and trigger group pins are worn and it looks like silver beneath the gold.
