In the worst possible scenario, assume the Dems/Libs get their way with "Gun Control":banghead: Suggest a powder to stock up on that will work (in a pinch) for .22-250 thru .300 mag.
I am thinking Hogdon H414..Your thoughts??

I'll not be a party to encouraging hoarding.

Reloading is the absolute last thing on their minds. Most don't even know about it and those that do generally aren't going to care much right now.

Keep enough powder to keep shooting but I wouldn't worry about "hoarding" any powder due to a political situation. Potential "assault weapons" and magazines sure, but not reloading stuff.

Just watch for good deals and buy that. get 5# or 8# if it's a pistol or shotgun powder, and 16# or 32# if a rifle powder. And leave some for the next guy. If there are no good deals, use your existing stock and/or buy small quantities until the craziness dies down.

Whenever you find a good deal on primers, get an extra 1000. If it's a *really* good deal, get 5000.

4895 and Varget will work in just about anything, but they're probably too fast for good performance in the magnums.

If those parties got their way on control, 1 pound would last you the rest of your life because recreational shooting and most hunting would be a thing of the past. Reloading would be entirely pointless.

These guys made a video about what guns to buy before the ban and what magazines to buy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y88VNIeNSZo

In the last month they got 600,000 views and everything they recommend is sold out on line.

I am not buying AR15s, but I am buying old guns.
I am inspired by former Texas senator Phil Gramm about how many old shotguns he has collected, "More than I need, less than I want".

I agree there's no reason to hoard and especially powders.

If you want to buy 1 rifle powder in 8lb jugs I would and did buy H4895.
