Fifty pack of quality mil-spec Novosibirsk cost about $12 at LGS and little less if ordered in bulk. That was before hoards:rolleyes: beseeched gun shows, gun shops, internet retailers like Russians used to do to meat markets in old Soviet Union.

What is interesting is Winchester "white box" is about $5 per box more then Selier & Belot.
Actually it is the same ammo.

David, your gun is a Hungarian PA63 (I have one). Not a bad gun but not a Makarov.

The PA63 is second row center.

My PA63 has been awesome.

They're good guns IMO, just stay clear of surplus 9x18 ammo as I've had constant issues with unreliable priming with said ammo. The strikes were good on the primers but the rounds failed to go off. The ones I'm complaining about I believe come in 18 round packs.

Modern manufactured ammo has been perfectly reliable in it.

Yes, it s a PA-63. I was doing some homework last night when I discovered this. I have seen it commonly called a Makarov, but now realize it is similar, but not the same. Is it still comparable to a Mak as far as ruggedness and accuracy?

And I did manage to find some ammo for it at $15 per 50 count box, so I bought 500 rounds.

I have a Mak and a PA-63. The PA-63 is lighter
and has a nicer trigger. The Mak would take a
beating much better, though.

Fear not, your PA is a faithful copy of a Walther to the point where several parts will interchange. Being good commies at the time, they didn't pay much attention to bourgeois concepts like patents.

Not a bad deal for the money to say the least.
