My wife works in a private school. Today, they're having active shooter training at their campus with the local police department. The principle and several staff are interested in carrying concealed handguns (they are already licensed).

The local police wouldn't tell them (or didn't know) if they could grant such permission to teachers on staff, or other personnel. I was called, but the truth is that I don't know. So I'm asking here.

Answers will ultimately be found through legal counsel, but we're interested in having preliminary information. Can private schools in Tennessee grant teachers and other personnel the right to carry?
