My new carry piece.

A Taurus TCP. Basically a rip off of the Ruger LCP but with a slide lock on last shot feature.

Truly compact and lightweight (like 10 ounces). I ran a box of FMJs and another JHPs through it today and had 2 stoppages with the steel cased FMJs but the brass cased ammo went fine. I will avoid steel cased ammo. I was surprised at the light recoil. Could the polymer frame absorb some of the kick?

Fired 13 rounds (starting with fully loaded gun and one 6 round reload) at about 10 feet one handed "point shooting" (which is how you do it that close under pressure, trust me) I could cover the centered group with my hand. I wanted the lightest, most compact pistol I could get in something bigger than 25 caliber. This will do.

I was even able to get a nice picture of it.

Good choice. A buddy of mine just got one, and it feels good and well put together. I haven't shot it, though.

Incidentally, the Ruger LCP is, in itself, pretty much a copy of yet another gun, the Kel-Tec P3-AT (albeit a more-refined copy.)

I already have a Kel-Tec P32, so I'm not in the market, but I'd say you should do well with that.

Locked breech, much better trigger, slide locks back...

Too bad I don't trust Taurus at all. The TCP still seems to have issues... even the C series. There was a poll on a taurus forum. About 30% had to go back to the factory. 10% never worked right.

What is the "C" series you speak of jiggly?
For those of us not in the know of Taurus terminology.

I have the same TCP and carry it every day. I tried them all, and the Taurus had less recoil and a much better trigger pull than either the LCP or the P3AT, and it's more fun to shoot, not to mention having a better price tag. Have not had a single problem with mine, and it has the serial no. ending in C, which means it is one of the later manufacture dates with fixes of the bugs in the serials ending in A and B.

Which Taurus Forum? The Taurus of lately is nothing like the Taurus of old. However, ALL Taurus & ALL Bersa are just crap.

As Medwheeler said...not like it ever was a Ruger design anyway.

The more, the merrier.

I'll bet money that Sax has an old revolver or two to fall back on should his taurus fall from grace.

Uh, okay. Yet another low-roader shoots from the hip and runs..

Edit: ...or, maybe Jaymo (below) is right.

Edit yet agan: Yep, he was indeed simply being facetious. A quick check of his profile includes at least one of each, along with a Kel-Tec. My bad.

this one:

There was another, more recent one, but I can't find it.

2010? That going back some time.

The voting went on for about 7 months. And that ended in 2011. This is 2013. And that was a smidgen of overall owners at that.

The majority find them just fine.

There has been a lot of water under the bridge since then and the TCP problem,if there were any, were taken care of. Gun companies DO make adjustments when needed.

I've got a TCP. An early model to boot. No problems to report.

The slide lock doesnt matter to me. No extra mags! :( The sights are what kills me on the lcp, but I suppose when it's needed aiming would be second to getting rounds out the pipe

I had one for a while. I loved it for its miniscule size. I could take it anywhere. I sold it, NOT because of the pistol, but because of the caliber. I just got out of 380. Plus, I was raising funds for a Dan Wesson CCO :)

Mine ran with everything I tried EXCEPT Remington white box 88gr JHP. I put just over 400 rounds through it before bidding it adieu. Got it broken in for the next owner :)
