heeler January 8, 2013, 06:50 PM Leupold. USAF_Vet January 8, 2013, 08:09 PM when putting a LER scope on a Mosin, the scope mount is equally important as the scope itself, if not more important. Ultimately, any decent LER rifle scope rated for that level of recoil should be fine. Bushnell is one brand that I prefer, affordable and holds zero. Leopold, as mentioned above and Unertl are also very good glass, which are sadly beyond my budget. Avoid stuff like NCStar and Barska. And insist on a quality scope mount, not the cheapo aluminum rail that replaces the rear sight leaf. I had one on my M-44, and no matter what I did or how much loktite I applied, it would shake loose after a few rounds, and eventually stripped the threads. Get something in steel, or at least steel threaded inserts for the mounting hardware. FWIW, I gave up on trying to scope my Mosin, and shoot it with open sights. Warp January 8, 2013, 08:26 PM Leupold 2.5x28 Intermediate Eye Relief (IER) 'Scout Scope' http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-25x28mm-m8-ier-scout-rifle-scope.html shaggy430 January 9, 2013, 07:12 AM Swarovski. I kid, I kid. Franco2shoot January 9, 2013, 09:47 AM I have a 91/30 and have used the ATI mount for my normal scope and it has never come loose. Must be 4 years of use now. I wouldn't hesitate using the same set up on my M-44 http://www.atigunstocks.com/accessories-and-parts/456-mosin-nagant-scope-mount-with-bolt-handle.html KKKKFL RPRNY January 9, 2013, 10:14 AM I have a different take on this for you to consider. You didn't spend a fortune on your MN, so why spend a fortune on your scope? If you want a long eye relief scope that will stand up to recoil and do you well for up to 150 yard shooting, I suggest a Simmons 4x32 "shotgun " scope for under $50. If you don't like the diamondplex reticle, spend $10 more and get the Bushnell 4x shotgun scope with the circle reticle. Just a thought. Revoliver January 9, 2013, 10:18 AM Both Leupolds and Redfields have very good/generous eye relief. hak January 9, 2013, 05:32 PM https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product1.php?id=AccuPoint several flavors sizes reticles to choose from. better than average eye relief. some may squeal at the cost "for a moisin" but the glass you can keep and move if/when you sell the rifle. Doubt the eye relief is enough henschman January 9, 2013, 06:25 PM The Burris and Leupold 2.5x scout scopes are both excellent. ball3006 January 9, 2013, 07:37 PM I have a Burris 4x on my Mosin Nagant M39. It will shoot 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards with Privi 150 gr sp ammo....It is mounted on a darrell mount....chris3
