JoergS January 9, 2013, 06:54 AM OK, we all know that front heavy bolts need no fletching for a straight flight.
What if...

JShirley January 9, 2013, 10:23 AM Wondering how you'll keep it running while in flight.

MErl January 9, 2013, 10:57 AM I'd have to guess that the speed of impact would be too great for the chainsaw to do anything. the chain wouldn't have moved very far in the time taken to penetrate the target. It would be ugly as hell if it got stuck inside the target but beyond that it's just a blunt spear.
Edit:
('m guessing you were trimming a branch way up in a tree and didn't feel like climbing)
JoergS January 9, 2013, 02:07 PM True, it will be ineffective and awkward. Expensive as well, as the "ammo" is not likely going to survive more than a couple of shots, best case.
But still... come on, I will be launching a chain saw! Hahahahahahahaaaaaa...
Dr. Sandman January 9, 2013, 03:44 PM Make sure that you use poison tipped chain, just in case.

gazpacho January 10, 2013, 09:10 PM Um . . . An electric chainsaw? I'd just put a 50mm hollowpoint on the shaft and be done with it.
Hunter125 January 10, 2013, 09:13 PM Reminds me of a picture I saw once...
