Thought you guys might want to know this. A.S.C. has new manufacture 30 round aluminum (black or grey powder coated) AR magazines in stock for $14.00, with anti-tilt followers.

They also have some newly made SS (black only) for $15.95, also with anti-tilt followers.

I was very surprised when I called them today and got to speak with a live person after only 3 rings. All they manufacture and sell are various AR magazines. 5.56, 6.5, 6.8, .308, 7.62X39 and 9mm. 30, 20, 10 and 5 rounders.

The lady I spoke to was very cordial. She said they were very busy but were still filling and shipping all orders. Sorry guys, I did not ask about any warranty.

The prices seemed pretty damned good to me so I ordered 2 each of the 5.56, grey, black and black SS. I probably should order more (if they prove to be good ones)

I just wanted to pass this info along.

Thanks for the heads up, I already had several ASC 6.8 magazines, and they have been fine, now I'll (hopefully) have a few more in 6.8 and 5.56. Now if I could just find anywhere that has G17 mags in stock... it's like they've been swept off the face of the earth.

I called an spoke to them on the phone, and was told they hae a backlog of 4-5 weeks. She said a pre-authorization charge wuld show on my CC, but it wouldn't actually be billed until the magazines shipped.

Seemed cordial and professional, but I have no other experience with them.

used to live in adjoining town--basically john downey drive right down the road is the home of a few gun related companies--stag arms (continental), okay industries--not far, and another mag producer is around the corner--forgot which but they do a lot of colt stuff. c-products was less than a mile away until they moved to newington ct. my guess is that it's probably an offshoot of one of the mag companies-or started up by a former employee, could even be a division of stag?

i wouldn't think you would have an issue with them. saw cmags in production once--they bang em out pretty fast. good luck.

ASC used to be C Products, or at least their products were. I've had good luck with their stuff in general.

January 10, 2013, 04:45 PM
I believe they're the old C-Products and a casual look-see at reviews leaves hit and miss on the brain. Of note were multiple stories of the 2-3 week backlog that was ever renewable.

I wish everyone luck with their orders but I'm waiting for Magpul or Troy to catch up. I slapped myself at Bass Pro last week for carting 2 10-round Bushmasters at $29.97 ea. As I strolled around my senses returned and back on the end cap they went. Whodathunk October was the Good ol Days!

Okiegunner
January 10, 2013, 06:28 PM
I have a C-Products magazine (came with a rifle) and as a matter of fact it is fully loaded right now sitting in a pouch. I am headed to the range this evening and it is one of the magazines I'm taking with me. I have never had a single problem with this magazine. It is one of the grey 30 rounders and looks like and functions just as well as my BCM magazines.

For a decent quality magazine, I for one have no problems (in this climate) waiting 3-4 weeks for my mags to arrive. If necessary even a little longer. I'm not hurting for mags right now. I just wanted to pick some decent ones up at a reasonable price. (maybe, possibly, who knows, while we still can)

I understand supply and demand. I understand folks making a profit. Its just really nice and refreshing seeing a business that is not attempting to skin the hide off of the buying public.

I for one will remember the businesses that treated me fairly. Cabelas being another one. They are still selling 7.62X39 at $350.00/1000 rds.

looks very much like C-Products. I have several of their mags.

Good to know there's another mfg of 5 rounders. (These are tough to find and expensive, I wanted a couple for varminting)

I may have to order a couple 20's and see what happens.

I figured it was too late when I saw this yesterday evening (plus it was too late to call them). I decided to give them a call a few minutes ago to get a busy signal and then have a woman answer on my second try. I was interested in the 9mm mags and bought three 20-rounds since they were in stock (they were out of 32's). They did not have any 223 mags in stock, so I back-ordered a few of those and was told 4-6 weeks, but that it may be sooner. I don't really need the 223 mags, but I figured what the heck.

I think they said back order was 4-5 weeks. I won't get concerned until mid February.

Hypothetically speaking, if a mag ban were to pass while the magazines are back ordered, would they legally be allowed to ship them, or will they have to cancel all back orders?

Every mag I've ever had with that finish comes out of the bag scratched.

USAF_Vet

If I'm buying new, i want them to look new. If they get scratched during use, thats one thing and I'm okay with that. But fresh from the factory still in the package, I'd prefer it to be as pristine as every other magazine I've ever bought new.

If I want a magazine that looks used, I'll buy used. Like the two 30 rounders I'm getting Sunday for $10 each. I know they are used, so I get what I get and I don't care what they look like provided they are functional.

Browning

Naw, I'm not upset.

These are going to get used quite a bit and they'll get a bit scratched up the first time they get used. No big deal.

I just thought that it was kind of weird that one was like that being new in wrapper. At that point the only thing I did was cut it out of the plastic.

Is the differentiation between .223 and 6.5 and 6.8 mags just marketing, or is it actually a different design? Last I checked, 6.5 and 6.8 were specifically designed to work with the same magazine. That was kind of the point.

The 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendal mags are definitely different from the 5.56mm/.223 mags. I have heard of folks modifying 5.56mm mags, but honestly, why bother?

.300 Blackout uses the same mags as 5.56mm/.223.
